Idleness gets the better of me this year, so the family end-of-year report is:
Read the previous news below.
There, glad that's done. So just need to add what's happened since 1st December. Three very enjoyable gigs at Rock Cafe 2000, Stourbridge, Sale Waterside Arts Centre and Telfords Warehouse, Chester. All very different types of venue and each gig memorable in its own way. So thanks to all who came and enjoyed the tourette. We featured a few of DJ's new songs including Raggedy Man, Friday Busking Club, Broader in the Beam and Will You Stay? Encores included Meet Me on the Corner for all the old hippies in the band and audience and Fairytale of New York which people have been asking us to do for years. The originals will go on the new album planned for 2006, together with All the Way over the Sea, Church of St Mahone, Made em All, Sweet Molly Mahone, Alton Lea (not played at a gig yet) and others yet to be finalised.
The MAHONE BREW went down well at Telfords - -our thanks again to the chaps from WC Brewery for coming up with the idea. Our only disappointment was that it sold out by 8.30pm and we realised we should have commissioned two barrels. Ah well, next time..........
Many thanks again to Chris, Ess (get well soon!) and Paddy for their technical, driving and merchandising support in 2006, not forgetting Pixie Dancer on the merch. as well.
A Happy and Peaceful Christmas and New Year to all from Charlie, Christy, Doc, DJ, Donal, Jock and Rusty.
Hot News 01/11/05 - Our very own beer!
Playing at a local beer festival not so long ago, Christy and I met the very wonderful Mr W and Mr C who are the proud proprietors of the WC Brewery based just outside Chester. After a trial start-up period working mainly with beer festivals, WC have just got their license from the Customs & Excise people and have now gone commercial. So everyone can buy their excellent brews! For the December 18th gig at Telfords, we have specially commissioned MAHONE BREW, our very own beer , 9 gallons of which will be available for purchase that night. Be sure not to miss this unique occasion and don't forget to visit the WC website.
